Chinese New Year. The holiday which everyone is waiting for. Yesterday was Chinese New Year Eve and it was the time whereby my whole family gathers and have a big feast together. In dinner there was a wide variety of food consisting of sushi, sashimi, steamboat dishes like raw meat and vegetables. Before dinner started, all of us were ravenous. At about six o'clock in the night, my family of seven people started to tuck in and eat the steamboat dinner. However, by the end of the dinner, all of our stomachs were almost bloated as there were too much food to finish. However, I still enjoyed eating the delectable Japanese sushi and sashimi. Its cold sensation when you put them in your mouth is something I will never forget.
After dinner, four of us, compromising my brother, aunt, grandfather and I, started in a "friendly" game of mahjong which did not involve any money. My grandfather, as expected, won most of the games as he was smart enough in knowing what cards we wanted in order to win. Fortunately, I came in second winning four games as I had a lucky spell of drawing useful cards. In the contrary, my brother and aunt only won a game each hence he was sulking after we had finished playing. As the start of Chinese New Year is arriving, my new year resolution is for everyone to be healthy and hope all families will be able to survive the financial crisis. As I am just a student, I only can help my parents to save money to relieve their financial burden.
